About Me
Karen is a passionate yoga teacher who has accumulated over 600 hours of yoga teacher training in Australia and India. Teaching primarily in Australia, Karen has gained a following and global clients in New Zealand, South America, and the US.
Karen takes a holistic approach to teaching. The totality of yoga and conscious psychology, sharing the many benefits physically, mentally, and emotionally for balanced health and wellbeing. She will guide you through your practice to build physical strength and flexibility as well as strengthen your inner compass and tools to live a calming, balanced, and holistic life.
Karen’s teachings incorporate breath awareness and mindful movement to bring more energy, balance, and harmony into your life.
Karen's interest and exploration with yoga practice initially began with physical benefits - the strength and flexibility helped with her fitness. While on her path of discovery, Karen acknowledged and experienced the power of the therapeutic benefits of yoga which helped her lower back and sciatica issues.
Even though the physical healings were evident, it was yoga philosophy that Karen connected to. It was in line with her life philosophy and continues to help Karen on her journey.
From a young age, Karen has experienced stress and anxiety. Leading into adulthood, the prolonged stress and anxiety led to autoimmune disease, adrenal fatigue, and borderline Hashimoto. Once this was diagnosed Karen decided to take her experience of life into her own hands.
She improved her health condition through leading intentional lifestyle changes, yoga, mindfulness, and meditation. Karen uses these tools to manage and regulate stress and anxiety, and at the heart, it is the philosophy that has helped Karen change the way she thinks and lives. It has changed and continues to guide her through life to learn more about herself and others. It's through this remarkable experience that Karen knows that there is always a light for every one of us, even for you, no matter where your physical and mental health stands.
Karen furthered her studies with yoga as a holistic practice and incorporated the benefits of meditation and holistic health. What Karen has gained through these studies is something she believes everyone can benefit from. That is, to get the root of our suffering, to gain insight as to why we behave and think a certain way, and to discover ways to heal. Karen is amazed by everything she has discovered and learned and shares this with others who are on journeys to improve their health, wellbeing, physical and emotional states.
What motivates Karen to get on the Mat? Yoga gives Karen overall balance and harmony, not only physically but mentally and emotionally. Karen believes modern-day yoga and mindfulness is an invaluable tool to steer through modern-day life and help you develop and grow through all aspects of life.
